Telluride business accelerator seeking applicants

A new startup accelerator has launched in Telluride and it’s seeking applicants from across the state and country.

The nonprofit Telluride Foundation launched the Telluride Venture Accelerator, an initiative aimed at developing startup and expanding companies. Officials for the startup accelerator say they’re hoping to interest some Boulder-area firms, noting that the industries targeted under the initiative — outdoor recreation, tourism, natural products, health energy, water and education — are pretty much in Boulder’s wheelhouse.

If accepted into the accelerator — which provides $30,000 plus up to $8,000 for transportation and lodging and also business development help to members of the program — the entrepreneurs would need to live and work in Telluride for the duration of the program.

The deadline for applications is Nov. 15.
