Boulder’s SendGrid to open Denver offce

Boulder-based SendGrid, which runs a cloud-based e-mail service, plans to open an office in Denver’s LoDo area next month, officials recently announced.

The privately held SendGrid inked a lease for a 15,000-square-foot space at 1451 Larimer St. in Denver, a site with a 105-employee capacity, officials said.

The new office comes amid a period of rapid workforce expansion for SendGrid, a participant of the 2009 TechStars program that now has 100 full-time employees and is hiring for 42 positions across its offices in Boulder; Anaheim, Calif.; and Denver, Jim Franklin, SendGrid’s chief executive officer wrote in an e-mail to the Camera.

“We have also hired for positions recently in New York and San Francisco as well as internationally,” Franklin said. “We are growing quickly and just hit the 60,000-customer mark.”

Some of those customers of SendGrid’s transactional e-mail infrastructure and delivery services include Foursquare, Tumblr, Spotify and Pandora.

“We also expect to expand and will open more space in Boulder in the future,” in addition to SendGrid’s Pearl Street office, he said.
